| Q: |
Do your replacement windows met the standards for the IRS tax rebate and do you have any special offers available?
Thanks C. Kangas
|
| A: |
Yes our windows do meet the federal guidelines for the energy tax credit. The requirements are pretty tough to hit so most windows are not energy efficient enough. The requirement is a U-factor of .30 and under as well as a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of .30 and under. These numbers can be found on the NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) sticker on most windows. Pitcher Perfect has a special on windows they start out at 239.00 each installed.
Thank you for your question.
Sincerely,
Craig Schneider

| Q: |
Which is better a new construction window or replacement window for my home?
|
| A: |
New construction windows are designed for just that “new construction,” being a replacement window it is designed to work in most cases with the finished woodwork and drywall already on the interior of your home. In most cases with a new construction window you are going from updating an existing fixture in your home to an unneeded and major construction re-design. A high quality window will fit the existing opening without needing to “fill in” around the unit. It will also seal very tight and look much better in your home.

| Q: |
How important is the company or contractor who installs your product?
|
| A: |
This is even more important than the window or siding you choose. We are use to being able to return an item to a store that doesn't work. You can't take a window or siding job back. You need a company to guarantee their work and enforce the manufacturer's warranty. With most Quad City companies switching manufactures so often this makes it harder for them to get service from manufacturers. Also look for companies like Pitcher Perfect who have grown doing 10 million in business making us the 89th largest contractor in a declining market. This will give you the piece of mind that your project will be taken care of for years to come, and in case of something unforeseen a company with our size has some real pull in the industry.

| Q: |
Vinyl windows look similar from company to company are they the same?
|
| A: |
No, actually most windows sold in and around the Quad Cities are average at best. Of course it is important to pick a window that is aesthetically pleasing and the large manufactures have many colors to choose from. Our manufacturer Soft-Lite can even custom color the exterior to match your design needs, but strength and energy efficiency are the most important. The AAMA certifies windows for strength. The AAMA DP number or AAMA DH-R number will tell you exactly how strong the window you are considering is. Don't be fooled by mph wind numbers some manufactures will let you know their product can handle 100+ mph winds which might only receive a AAMA DP or DH-R number of 30 and leak a lot of air. While a great window will receive a AAMA DP 50 receiving a gold label from the AAMA to show it's superiority and actually can handle up to 190 mph winds and leak little to no air. The NFRC certifies window energy efficiency. Look for a low u-value clearly printed on the window sticker the lower the number the more energy efficient the unit. The sticker takes the entire window into account not just the glass.

| Q: |
Are all vinyl sidings the same?
|
| A: |
No, like any other product there are many different qualities. Most vinyl sidings fade over time. Our premium Weatherguard and Weatherguard Plus panels offer an exclusive lifetime fade technology that virtually eliminates fade and oxidation concerns. Also our Weatherguard Plus panel offers a solid back insulation eliminating the hollow cavity behind most vinyl sidings. This is not a drop in backer it is a solid one piece unit insulation and vinyl in one making it stronger and more energy efficient that virtually all other vinyl sidings?
|
| Q: |
Why choose vinyl siding over other types of siding?
|
| A: |
Among all choices of building materials nothing can compare with the cost effective, light weight, durable, and maintenance free features of vinyl siding. Vinyl siding also can add considerable value to your home. No other exterior finish has so many beautiful finishes and textures. Premium vinyl siding is also available with lifetime fade protection to insure your house will look the same for many years to come. Also available is solid backed vinyl siding making the panel 300% stronger against impact. At Pitcher Perfect we offer a solid backed high R-value panel that has an acrylic finish to ensure no visible fade for 15 years.
